About Dan Atcheson
Dan Atcheson (1945–2020) was a seasoned construction professional and educator renowned for his contributions to the field of construction estimating. He began his career in construction as a teenager, working alongside his father, a Texas architect. Atcheson gained hands-on experience in various trades, including framing, plumbing, electrical work, and roofing. His practical knowledge laid the foundation for his later work as an educator and author. After years of field experience, Atcheson joined the engineering faculty at Texas Tech University, where he taught construction estimating. He later traveled across the United States conducting seminars for construction estimators, sharing his expertise with professionals in the industry.
