Book Overview
The Principles and Practices of Commercial Construction 11th Edition presents a comprehensive and practical treatment of commercial construction, guiding readers through the entire construction process—from initial site evaluation and layout through to interior finishes and project completion. Written by Cameron K. Andres, Ronald C. Smith and W. Ronald Woods, it blends design theory with hands‑on construction practices to deliver the working knowledge required by contractors, project managers, architects and engineers. The text is organized so that each chapter can stand alone, offering flexibility for course use or professional reference. It includes substantive updates for the modern commercial construction environment—such as advanced structural‑design applications, real‑world case studies, modern equipment and material practices, and hundreds of chapter‑ending review questions to reinforce learning and support preparation for contractor licensing exams. Because it is listed on many states’ approved reference lists for contractor licensure, it serves both as an educational textbook and an exam preparation resource.
