About Stephen L. Herman

Stephen L. Herman is a retired electrician and educator with over 30 years of hands-on experience in the electrical trades and technical instruction. He served as the lead instructor for the Electrical Technology curriculum at Lee College in Baytown, Texas for about twenty years, where he earned the Excellence in Education Award from the Halliburton Education Foundation. Before that (or also), he taught at Randolph Community College in Asheboro, North Carolina, for nine years and helped develop an electrical curriculum at Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant, Texas. In addition to his teaching roles, Herman authored numerous popular textbooks covering electricity, motor control, and electrical mathematics — many of which remain widely used in vocational and technical education.
