The 2021 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) is a model code developed by the International Code Council (ICC) that sets minimum standards for the maintenance of existing buildings. It’s widely adopted by municipalities to ensure safe, sanitary, and structurally sound properties.
Purpose and Scope
- Objective: To protect public health, safety, and welfare by regulating the maintenance of existing residential and non-residential structures.
- Applicability: Applies to all existing buildings, regardless of when they were constructed.
- Compatibility: Fully aligned with other ICC codes like the International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), and International Fire Code (IFC)
About ICC
